Jay-Z's Cover of "Forever Young"

I saw an ad the other day for Jay-Z's cover of Alphaville's song "Forever Young."  I was instantly horrified that Jay-Z would even try to remake this hauntingly beautiful and classic song.  Curiosity got the best of me today, so I pulled it up on You Tube.  I couldn't even make it through the whole thing.  As soon as the rapping started, I turned it off.  Awful, totally awful.  It actually kind of makes me mad that Jay-Z would ruin such a great song.  I am divided on whether to tell Cesar about this debacle, considering how much he loves the original version.  I know he'll hate the Jay-Z version, so perhaps I won't bring it up.
